Plus, they are perfect for gift giving because they come in a cute little tin. So why should you make beeswax lotion bars? Let me tell you!

First of all, they are made with natural ingredients, so they are good for your skin. In fact, I've been making my own beeswax lotion for about 4 years now.  It is the BEST lotion I've ever used.  Adds so much moisture to my skin and can last a long time.

Second, beeswax lotion lasts a long time. A bar of lotion will last up to six months if stored properly.  You don't need a lot of lotion to moisturize your skin.  Just a little swipe and you have a good amount to add to your hands, arms, legs and feet.

Finally, they make a great gift for anyone on your list!

What is a beeswax lotion bar?

A beeswax lotion bar is a solid moisturizer that is made from a combination of beeswax, oils, and butter. The beeswax acts as a barrier to lock in moisture, while the oils and butter help to nourish and condition the skin.

Unlike lotions that are made with water, lotion bars do not require a preservative, which makes them an ideal choice for those with sensitive skin. Moreover, because they are solid, lotion bars are easy to transport and can be applied directly to the skin, making them extremely versatile.

What does beeswax do in a lotion bar?

Beeswax is a natural emollient, meaning it helps to soften and protect the skin. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help to soothe irritated skin.

In addition, beeswax helps to create a barrier on the skin, trapping moisture and keeping your skin hydrated. As a result, lotion bars made with beeswax are an excellent choice for those with dry or sensitive skin.

What do I need to make beeswax lotion?

Beeswax lotion bars are very simple to make. However, you may not have all the supplies you need on hand. Let's walk you through what you'll need:

    • Beeswax: we buy ours locally, but you can also buy it online
    • Almond Oil: you can also use olive oil, but I like the smell of almond oil
    • Shea Butter
    • Lotion Molds: you can find lots of different molds online for shapes you like best. You can also find fun tins to keep the lotion in.
